Welcome to Muddy Bottoms Boer Goats and Mastiffs with Boer Goats for sale in Iowa. Muddy Bottoms is tucked away near the Wapsie River in eastern Iowa and the home to Matt and Robyn and our little farm hands, Kanan and Kolby. We raise fullblood South African Boer Goats, English Mastiffs and Great Pyrenees LGD's (Livestock Guardian Dogs).

There is a story behind how we became involved with Boer goats:

A friend from work had bought her daughter two pygmy goats as Easter presents, as those goats grew up and made more goats, she realized she could no longer care for them. She asked me as a favor to give them a home. Since we had just recently moved into our new home on 80 acres and had some fencing up already for our miniature Kentshire cows, I agreed. As more kids were born, we attended our first exotic sale and bought pygmy and Spanish nannies to add to our hobby herd. That Fall we attended again and that is where I saw these beautiful, massive white goats with red heads and I was hooked. We purchased some commercial does and began building our herd with our first registered buck, Spongebob, and continued success in selling commercial kids.

In 2004 we attended a Bosque Valley production sale and began our adventure into fullblood and percentage boer goats from quality bloodlines. Since that time we have learned many lessons in the importance of genetics and have purchased goats from Jack and Anita Mauldin, Elite Coalition Sale in 2005 and 2006 and Boers of the Bluegrass sale. We are extremely pleased and excited about introducing these bloodlines into our herd.
